28 Apr 2007 The Old Geezer Well, well you lot, a slow start to your gardening year but lots of progress lately eh. Let's hope you don't run out of steam too early an for goodness sake, stop giving yourselves hardship with all that back-breaking digging and get a cheap Merry Tiller from eBay for less than £100. Daddy will give it the necessary TLC when he comes over. Don't forget that ducks just love slugs, much more than slugs love beer dregs!
25 Nov 2006 The Old Geezer again No activities since July Lee? You must be joking! Call yourself a gardener Sheesh...
19 Sep 2006 The Old Geezer again Ok Lee, that's that for this year, time to start on next year's crops---sow spring cabbage, early cauliflowers and broad beans. No rest for the weary!
5 Aug 2006 The Old Geezer again How's the harvest Lee? We've had a bumper crop of soft fruit and plenty of courgettes, radishes, cucumbers and other salad thingies so far and lots of tomatoes and peppers coming on nicely. Not bad for an old fart eh.
21 July 2006 Nigel Yeah, my beetroots have gone brown on the leaves as well (but they did get left without watering for two weeks when we went on holiday). My gardening book says beetroot especially need to be well watered, otherwise the roots get woody.
